It definitely feels like the evenings are closing in on us again, and the weather is becoming so much more “British” all of a sudden. It unfortunately does feel like summer is officially over, and we’re well into Autumn. I went for a wander today and my hands actually felt numb from the cold! Which reminded me of one of my favourite couple shoots in London, from last winter.
I joined Ischelle & Zi Hao for a whistle stop tour of some of London’s sights. They opted for a night time shoot to capture the lights of the city, which I loved the idea of. But the weather was far from being kind that evening. I think the temperature was around 4°C, and to add insult to injury it was raining…heavily. I think I lost feeling in my hands within the first 15 minutes outside of Harrods. From there we made our way to Regent Street and explored our way to Carnaby Street, before making an outfit change and a quick cold dash through Mayfair to take some pictures outside of Annabel’s.
We took a cab to warm up a little bit whilst we headed over to Westminster Abbey to continue the shoot (with some conveniently timed red buses). From there we walked our way past Parliament, and across Westminster Bridge. The festoon lights running along the Thames gave off some perfect light for a few portraits, and we ended our shoot near the London Eye.
We were all soaked, head to toe and pretty damn cold too. But it was so worth it, and I’m so pleased Ischelle & Zi Hao braved the elements for our photoshoot. Such a fun evening exploring London, and I love how the pictures turned out despite the weather. Here’s just a tiny selection from their photoshoot. Enjoy!
