Mel & Jimmy’s elegant fun filled wedding day in the rolling hills of Kent, at The Oak Barn, Benenden - Will Fuller Photography
On what felt like one of the hottest days of the year I joined Mel & Jimmy for their beautiful wedding day in Orpington, and then the Oak Barn Frame Farm in Kent for their wedding reception. The morning before the ceremony was spent hopping between two family homes, to capture pictures of both Mel and Jimmy getting ready, surrounded by friends and family.
St Giles the Abbot in Farnborough was the church where the ceremony was held. The church is surrounded by woodland, so despite being a boiling hot day the church was still nice and cool, with beautiful soft light coming through the large windows.
At The Oak Farm guests gathered next on a lower terrace, overlooking the rolling Kent countryside. Entertainment for the drinks reception came from a fantastic guitarist, who is well worth checking out (link below)! The wedding breakfast was held in the main barn, followed by the speeches. Everyone then headed back down to the terrace whilst evenings guests started arriving.
I took Mel and Jimmy into the gardens and around the pond for a few pictures in the golden evening sunlight. It was the perfect evening for portraits, and The Oak Barns grounds are set up so well for capturing a great sunset.
The evening celebrations started back in the main barn, and after the first set by the band we all headed back outside for some sparklers in the twilight.
Thanks so much to Mel and Jimmy for inviting me to photograph their wedding day, and I wish them all the very best for the future!
